Bade afsosh ki hai baat, mein sach kehta hu,
Koi aaye, ya na aaye, mein toh je leta hu,
Pehle nazaro ko lagi rehti thi kisi ki talash,
Ab akele hi mein, mehfil ko saja deta hu,
Pehle tan-hai se dil daar ke rone lagta tha,
Ab lage daar toh ghame-dil ko hasa de-ta hu,
Koi muskil nahi hai jab talak hai saath khuda,
Koi uljan sataye toh bhula deta hu.
